Dr. Nick Tse has established the Motivational Interviewing Coding and Coaching Lab (MICC Lab) under Dr. Nick Tse Consultancy Limited to provide specialized training and research services in the Chinese language. Our mission is to support practitioners, organizations, and researchers in effectively applying Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques to achieve positive outcomes.

What is Coding in Motivational Interviewing?

Coding in MI is the systematic analysis of a practitioner's recorded session to evaluate their proficiency in MI techniques. By coding a work sample, we measure the ability to apply MI principles effectively. Our team collaborates with your teams to capture and analyze the data that matters most to you.

Coding Services

Practice Feedback Coding Service: Coding and feedback for each 20-minute MI practice recording sample, fee is HKD 500-600.

Research Coding Service: To achieve robust quality control, research teams generally adopt "double coding," which means the same MI practice recording sample is coded by two coders. The fee for coding each 20-minute MI practice recording sample is HKD 1,000-1,200.
